Anita and her husband, Anvish, became Alzheimer’s Society Ambassadors in April 2020, marking their appointment by backing the charity’s Emergency Covid Appeal. With the coronavirus crisis putting dementia sufferers at significant risk, their support provided much-needed information and protection for vulnerable people across the UK. With the couple’s help, the appeal has raised an incredible £5.3 million to date.
Anita was first introduced to the care sector in 2013 by her husband, Anvish Goyal — Founder of Hallmark Care Homes and Chair of Care England. Since then, she has become a passionate campaigner for safe and dignified care throughout the UK, with a focus on raising dementia awareness within the South Asian community.
In 2019, Anita played a pivotal role in raising £200,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society and The Care Workers Charity through The Care Sector Ball — the first annual, dedicated fundraiser within the care home industry.
