Living With Passion & Purpose

Anita is an award-winning philanthropist, author and community champion, celebrated for her services to diversity and female empowerment.

Born in East London, UK, Anita spent 20 years as teacher of science, advancing to Head of Department and later progressing to Assistant Headteacher of Inclusion. But after the tragic loss of her first husband in 2011, Anita found herself rethinking her place in the world; eager to affect positive change and improve the lives of those less fortunate.

It was Anita’s second husband, Avnish Goyal, who introduced her to the world of philanthropy. From 2013, Anita adopted a key role within the family foundation — the Hermaj Goyal Foundation — organising fundraising events for affiliated charities. Inspired by the opportunity to help vulnerable women and children worldwide, Anita left teaching and embarked upon a full-time career in philanthropy.

"My message to other women to achieve something great is: Do things which resonate with your values. Define your three top values and live by them. Do everything with a bigger vision in mind, and always live with passion and purpose.”

My Values

My mission is to empower people to reach their full potential by sharing my experiences, connections and knowledge. To serve others, evolve minds and inspire personal growth.

01Integrity

I am always genuine, honest and true to my word. I work hard to understand the experiences of others, build trust, and share from a place of empathy and compassion. I treat others with respect and dignity, as I wish to be treated myself. And although I can’t guarantee I won’t make mistakes, I can promise to do everything in my power to put them right.

02Education

I am passionate about learning and exploring different perspectives. My mission is to enrich others’ lives by sharing my knowledge and experiences; to open their minds to new concepts, people and possibilities. I never stop evolving and am constantly working towards a greater understanding of myself and others. I practice self reflection, listen as much as I speak, and continually strive to broaden my mind.

03Connection

I believe that human connection is our most powerful transformational tool. By connecting with others, we can enrich lives, inspire minds, open new doors and embrace positive change. That’s why I continually strive to build a diverse community of connections, based on mutual support, compassion and encouragement. No-one should have to face challenges alone. I proactively facilitate connections that help others to grow, succeed, and get to the place they need to be.

04Empowering

So many of life’s frustrations arise from feelings of powerlessness. My aim is to equip people with the tools they need to transform their mindset; to overcome their internal barriers and make empowered decisions. I open doors, spark fresh thinking and reveal new pathways. I seek to inspire people by sharing my experiences, knowledge and connections. And I empower others – from the inside out – to identify, pursue and achieve their goals.
